SUMMARY:Photographers Journey/Walk along the Colchester Causeway
DESCRIPTION:Enjoy the beauty of the changing leaves over Lake Champlain. The Causeway (or fill as locals call it) was once a railway from The Champlain Islands to the mainland. It is now a free recreational path where you often will see birds of prey\, including bald eagles and sometimes owls. You might even catch a glimpse at a mink or beaver. The views are stunning. Walk/bike ride as far as you like along a wide pathway above Lake Champlain.\nMeet at Airport Park in Colchester (500 Colchester Point Rd\, Colchester\, VT 05446) Sunday Oct 4 at 10 am. Look for the car with the pumpkins beside it. These will be your people. From there the walk is a little further to the lake. There is a parking area further up\, that has limited parking. Carpool together from Airport park to the closer parking area. Walk through the woods and be delighted with spectacular views of the Adirondacks in NY\, the Champlain Islands\, and VT. You will want to take many pictures.\nMaybe you come with a group\, maybe you come by yourself. We will build our community together. This is a great way to get to know others who will be working side by side this week to shut down ICE.

Come by during our posted hours each day to get oriented to our week of action\, touch base with volunteers\, or just hang out. Specific programming is posted separately at shutdownicevt.org/calendar. \nHours: \nSunday 3:30pm – 9:30pm \nMonday 12pm – 8pm \nTuesday 2pm – 8pm (yes\, hours are shortened this day!) \nWednesday 12pm – 8pm \nThursday 12pm – 8pm \nFriday 12pm – 8pm \nNote: Sunday is the only day of the week when participants are welcome to park in the church parking lot.
